Take a leap and join our client's cutting edge engineering consultancy where your expertise, as a Mechanical Design Engineer could shape and define sustainable building environments. Our client is offering the opportunity to work on a contract basis, outside IR35, on a hybrid working arrangement, where you will work 3 days a week from their office in London. Within this role, you will play a crucial role in the development of a variety of complex Data Centre projects.

-Competitive rate of 44-50 per hour (depending on experience).

-Hybrid working arrangements (3 days on site).

Responsibilities:

-Produce and develop detailed building services system designs, from concept through to design, with a focus on mechanical system elements.

-Create concise performance analyses and calculations, for all mechanical works, with the use of simulation and modelling tools when required.

-Put together technical specifications, drawings, and equipment schedules by using CAD and BIM software tools.

-Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a smooth integration of designs and models into the project plans, ensuring efficiency, constructability, and transparency.

-Conduct site visits, surveys, and commissioning processes, whilst also assisting throughout the implementation stages ensuring built systems align with the designs.

-Support the assessment of low-carbon and sustainable design opportunities, propose alternative design methods, and ensure that designs comply with key requirements.

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

-Extensive experience as a Mechanical Engineer, or a similar role, with knowledge of mechanical systems within the built environment.

-Strong proficiency with mechanical design software tools, such as BIM, CAD, simulation and modelling tools.

-Solid acknowledgement of current building regulations, low-carbon efficiency strategies, and sustainability principles.

-Sound analytical and mechanical calculation skills, with the ability to conduct performance assessments and produce high-quality documentation.

-Excellent communicator, with ability to build and maintain rapport with professionals.
