Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services
Salary: Up to 65,000 per annum
Location: London (hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Role Overview
An esteemed London-based consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering innovative and sustainable building services solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, and high-end residential projects. You'll work collaboratively with architects and clients, driving projects from concept through to completion, ensuring exemplary performance, compliance, and occupant well-being.

What You'll Be Doing
* Lead mechanical design for building services systems, including ventilation, heating, cooling, and energy performance.
* Collaborate closely with architectural teams to integrate services seamlessly into building designs.
* Undertake feasibility studies, technical design development, and specification preparation.
* Review and coordinate MEP input to architectural drawings and documentation.
* Oversee technical compliance with building regulations and industry standards.
* Mentor and guide less-senior engineers within the team.
* Coordinate and liaise with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
* Attend client meetings and design workshops, presenting ideas with clarity and confidence.

What We're Looking For
* Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in mechanical building services design - ideally across commercial, healthcare, education, or residential sectors.
* Strong competency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or equivalent BIM platforms.
* Deep knowledge of UK building regulations, HVAC design principles, and sustainable design standards.
* Excellent communication skills-clear, professional, and client-facing.
* Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working both independently and in collaborative teams.
* A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with meticulous attention to technical detail.
