Role Summary:

As a Mobile Building Services Technician, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, with a focus on mechanical systems and plumbing services. You will work across a mixture of high-end residential developments, office buildings, and retail units, ensuring all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance across mechanical, plumbing, and general building systems.

  • Diagnose and repair faults on pumps, pipework, valves, expansion vessels, pressurisation units, water heaters, boilers, and sanitary systems.

  • Conduct hot and cold-water system checks, including temperature monitoring and remedial works in line with L8 (Legionella) regulations.

  • Carry out minor HVAC maintenance tasks (e.g., filter changes, belt replacements, basic AHU servicing).

  • Attend urgent breakdowns and emergency call-outs in a timely and professional manner.

  • Liaise with property managers, tenants, and clients on-site to ensure clear communication and minimal disruption.

  • Record all works carried out via PDA/tablet or service sheets, ensuring accurate job reporting and compliance.

  • Support other mobile engineers or subcontractors where needed on large-scale works or cover duties.

  • Maintain van stock, tools, and materials in good condition and report usage or shortages promptly.

  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, method statements, and company policies at all times.

  • Participate in the on-call rota, typically 1 in 6 weeks, with additional payment.

Key Skills & Experience Required:
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Unvented Hot Water Certificate (G3) desirable.

  • Strong fault-finding skills on mechanical and plumbing systems.

  • Familiarity with BMS interfaces, booster sets, calorifiers, expansion vessels, and pressure systems.

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, fabric, and building services maintenance.

  • Previous experience in a mobile role working across residential or mixed-use sites preferred.

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
