Job Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with families and provide tailored support.

  • Manage a team of social workers and family support workers.

  • Understand and apply the Children's Act and related policies.

  • Handle complex cases involving Child Protection plans.

  • Participate in Legal Planning Meetings and Public Law Outline processes.

  • Ensure excellence in social work and safeguarding practices.

  • Collaborate with partner agencies, families, and carers.

Person Specifications

  • Must Have:

    • Experience with statutory safeguarding processes.

    • Track record of safeguarding children.

    • Leadership skills to motivate and drive team values.

    • Ability to manage performance and social work quality.

    • Registered with SW England and a recognized social work qualification.

  • Nice to Have:

    • Understanding of the DfE’s Families First for Pathfinders Programme.

    • Creative thinking for positive outcomes for children and young people.
