PMLD Teaching Assistant - South East London - Full time and Part time

Remedy Education are looking for a supply Teaching Assistant to support children with SEN in Primary and Secondary schools across South East London. You will be required to support children with PMLD and ASD on a 1-1 basis and administer personal care.

This role is initially temporary, however successful candidates will be brought on permanently by the school.

Although experience working with special needs in a school setting is preferred, any personal or professional experience supporting complex needs is what matters in this role to care and nurture for the individuals.The ideal candidate will need to be resilient, as due to the complex needs of the young people they can exhibit very challenging behaviour.Some of the young people are non-verbal, and there is a wide spectrum of needs catered for.Although the role can have its challenges, the school is lovely, the staff are supportive and it can be incredibly rewarding.

You must be comfortable with personal care and be happy to get stuck in!

Experience, Training & Qualifications:

  • Personal or professional experience supporting complex needs
  • Up to date Safeguarding certificate within the last year (desired but training can be provided)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH REMEDY, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
