An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant to join a well-established retail business, operating on a international scale. This is a confidential vacancy for a reputable company with a fantastic team culture and a real commitment to employee development.

You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative payroll team, where you'll gain hands-on experience across multiple payroll cycles and have the chance to work closely with a dedicated payroll mentor to help build your technical skills and payroll knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and processing of high-volume payrolls
  • Support the team in maintaining accurate employee records, timesheets, and payroll data
  • Help with the administration of statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and SPP
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and HMRC regulations
  • Respond to payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaise with HR and Finance departments where necessary
