The Role:
The school is currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Assistant Occupational Therapist to join its multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will work closely with the in-house Occupational Therapist to support the delivery of tailored therapy programs that enhance students' participation, independence, and wellbeing in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering occupational therapy sessions, both 1:1 and in small groups
- Support sensory integration and motor development interventions
- Help monitor and record student progress
- Adapt classroom tools and environments to meet individual needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families
- Maintain therapy materials and assist with administrative tasks
Candidate Requirements:
- Relevant qualification or experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or similar role
- Previous experience with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of developmental and sensory needs
- Kind, patient, and flexible approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
