Are you a seasoned Planning Policy professional looking for your next contract opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a Principal Planning Policy Officer (Grade J) on behalf of the Royal Borough of Kingston.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on the development and delivery of local planning policy frameworks
Prepare statutory and non-statutory policy documents
Provide expert policy advice on planning applications and major developments
Represent the council at hearings, meetings, and examinations
Monitor and respond to national policy and legislation changes
Support and guide junior officers and manage external consultants when required
Requirements:
Substantial experience in planning policy, ideally within local government
Strong understanding of relevant planning legislation and frameworks
RTPI membership desirable
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
