Are you a seasoned Planning Policy professional looking for your next contract opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a Principal Planning Policy Officer (Grade J) on behalf of the Royal Borough of Kingston.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the development and delivery of local planning policy frameworks

  • Prepare statutory and non-statutory policy documents

  • Provide expert policy advice on planning applications and major developments

  • Represent the council at hearings, meetings, and examinations

  • Monitor and respond to national policy and legislation changes

  • Support and guide junior officers and manage external consultants when required



Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in planning policy, ideally within local government

  • Strong understanding of relevant planning legislation and frameworks

  • RTPI membership desirable

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
