Salary: £80,000 to £90,000
Location: London, 2 to 3 days per week

I'm supporting the search for a Procurement Manager or a Commercial Manager with pre contract experience to join a leading infrastructure consultancy. This is a key role focusing on front-end procurement and ongoing commercial management of civil engineering contracts. It's not a full procurement position - what's needed is someone with a strong grasp of procurement processes and solid commercial capability across both pre- and post-contract phases.
The ideal candidate will have infrastructure or utilities experience, but the team is open-minded on sector background.

Requirements:

  • Proven procurement experience within rail, infrastructure, utilities, or similar sectors.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract management.
  • Exposure to civil engineering packages, specifically procuring civil contracts.
  • Client facing experience with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Chartered status (RICS or CIPS) preferred.
  • Comfortable working 2-3 days per week from London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement and commercial lifecycle of major civil contracts
  • Support pre-contract strategy, tender processes, and post-award commercial control
  • Liaise with technical and delivery teams to ensure commercial alignment
  • Contribute to risk and cost assessments, contract drafting, and stakeholder reporting
  • Provide input to contract negotiations and supplier engagement

My client is prepared to interview immediately, ideally seeking candidates with a notice period under 3 months.

This will likely be a 3 stage interview process, including one with their client.
