Are you a hands-on maintenance professional ready to step into a leadership role? We're working with a leading name in the gas manufacturing sector to recruit an experienced Maintenance Working Supervisor to join a key operational site currently undergoing an exciting equipment upgrade phase.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for leading a small on-site maintenance team while remaining fully engaged in day-to-day mechanical tasks. This is a practical, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, ensuring plant efficiency, and driving safety excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting a small team of engineers in a dynamic, high-standards environment

  • Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical faults on a range of rotating and static plant equipment

  • Conducting and overseeing planned maintenance using SAP systems

  • Ensuring strict compliance with Permit to Work and other safety protocols

  • Coordinating with external contractors for maintenance and installation activities beyond the internal team's remit

  • Maintaining clear documentation on maintenance history, inspections, and installations

What We're Looking For
  • A Level 4 Apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience with rotating equipment in a manufacturing or process environment

  • A hands-on leader - equally comfortable managing people and working on the tools

  • Ideally, an ATEX qualification or experience working in explosive atmospheres

  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office is a plus

  • A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving
