Mechanical Supervisor

Location: Central LondonSalary: Up to £60,000 per annum + benefitsHours: Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm + overtime + on call

About the Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our Facilities Maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial and public sector buildings.

As the Mechanical Supervisor, you will oversee a team of engineers and subcontractors, ensuring that all works are completed safely, to a high standard, and in line with industry regulations and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support mechanical engineers in the delivery of maintenance, repairs, and minor installations.

  • Carry out hands-on mechanical work when required, particularly during critical or complex tasks.

  • Conduct site audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations and company standards.

  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of works, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption.

  • Liaise with clients, site managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and expectations.

  • Maintain accurate records, including job sheets, risk assessments, and asset registers.

  • Provide technical support and training to team members when needed.

  • Participate in call-out rota and emergency response as required.

Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services or equivalent

  • Proven experience in a similar supervisory role within facilities maintenance.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and heating systems.

  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry standards.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to use CAFM systems and Microsoft Office packages.

Desirable
  • IOSH or SMSTS qualification.

  • Experience working in healthcare, education, or public sector environments.

  • Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and risk assessment procedures.
