Account Executive - Property (Captive Placement) - About the role

Manage a key Property client who works with Captive placement structures generating around £1.5m in brokerage. The role combines technical broking expertise with proactive relationship management, especially with one strategic market and a long-standing client with a Captive placement structure.

You will manage all aspects of the portfolio, including renewals. Handle in-year new business opportunities as they arise. Maintain regular engagement with the client through monthly head office meetings and visits to regional Property Manager offices—aiming for at least one site visit per month. Liaise with a single strategic market to place all business; maintaining an excellent working relationship through regular meetings. Support the ongoing growth of the Captive, including quoting on new managements throughout the year.

Account Executive - Key duties

This is a hands-on position combining technical broking expertise with leadership and relationship management, ensuring you support your team while delivering exceptional service and strategic account growth.

Client Relationship Management: Manage and nurture long-term relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for all insurance needs.

Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team, providing guidance and coaching to ensure service delivery standards are met and goals are achieved.

Renewal and New Business: Oversee the full renewal cycle for a complex residential property portfolio, while also driving the growth of new business within the client’s Captive programme.

Collaboration: Work closely with Account Handlers and other team members to ensure a seamless client experience, supporting both day-to-day service and strategic initiatives.

Client Engagement: Conduct regular site visits and meetings with clients, including monthly visits to various locations across the UK.

Insurer Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with key insurers, managing negotiations for optimal terms on renewals and new placements.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all policies are compliant with industry regulations and that the Captive insurance structure remains aligned with the client’s evolving risk strategy.

Account Executive - Key requirements

Solid technical knowledge of Residential Property Owners insurance is essential. Strong client servicing and relationship-building skills. Ideally some exposure to Captive placement structures, though in-depth knowledge of setup/cell management is not required (we are simply placing business into an existing structure). Ability to work to tight timelines with quick turnaround and clear, proactive communication.

Proven experience in an Account Executive role, ideally within residential or commercial property insurance.

Strong technical understanding of Property Owners insurance (Captive knowledge is beneficial but not essential).

Experience in managing client relationships with a focus on delivering tailored insurance solutions.

Leadership experience, particularly in team development, mentoring, and performance management - would be advantageous
