The Opportunity

This pivotal role sits within a centralised procurement service supporting a large network of healthcare providers. The post holder will deliver best-in-class sourcing solutions that ensure value for money, regulatory compliance, and alignment with wider commercial strategies.

Reporting to the Head of Sourcing, you'll lead on the planning and execution of sourcing strategies, engaging with senior stakeholders, suppliers, and contract managers to ensure successful project delivery and long-term value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver strategic sourcing plans across assigned categories, aligned to internal KPIs and service agreements.

  • Act as a professional lead within the sourcing function, supporting junior colleagues and promoting best practice.

  • Lead procurement activities from initiation to contract award, ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations.

  • Present commercial recommendations and procurement outcomes to decision-making boards and key stakeholders.

  • Provide high-quality support and advice to stakeholders on sourcing approaches and commercial options.

  • Ensure smooth handover of contracts to contract management and supplier performance teams.

  • Champion customer service excellence and foster collaborative working across procurement and wider teams.

Profile

Candidate Profile

We're looking for a motivated and experienced sourcing professional with:

  • Proven experience leading sourcing strategies in complex, public-sector environments (e.g., NHS, local government, healthcare, education).

  • Strong knowledge of public procurement regulations and value-for-money principles.

  • Experience working across a broad range of services - ideally including healthcare, professional services or community-based support.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and leadership capabilities.

  • A passion for driving service improvement and commercial outcomes.
