The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join their London-based commercial team, working on fast-track commercial fit-out schemes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, protecting commercial margins, and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring financial performance and contractual compliance throughout each project.
This is a part-time freelance position (2–3 days per week) running until the end of 2026.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage all commercial aspects of fit-out projects from inception to final account
- Prepare, manage, and agree interim valuations and final accounts
- Administer and interpret JCT contracts effectively
- Lead on procurement and tendering of subcontract packages
- Assess and certify subcontractor applications and variations
- Provide accurate cost forecasting and cash flow management
- Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Work closely with the project delivery team to ensure smooth progress and cost efficiency
- Maintain strong, professional client relationships and represent the business in a client-facing capacity
