We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, an Ofsted 'Outstanding' secondary school based in the heart of Islington, for a Teacher of Physical Education to cover a maternity leave from June 2025. This is a full-time position expected to last one academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing and inclusive all-boys secondary school with a strong reputation for academic and personal development. You will be joining a dynamic and well-supported PE department delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

Role Requirements:

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Inspire and motivate pupils to develop their physical skills, health and wellbeing
  • Monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and intervention
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including sports fixtures and extracurricular clubs

Person Specification:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) with QTS
  • Specialism in Physical Education
  • Experience teaching PE at Key Stage 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential)
  • Strong classroom management skills and a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-player mentality
