They are currently looking for a talented and enthusiastic Spanish teacher to join our team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

The Role:

They are seeking an experienced, motivated, and dynamic Spanish Teacher to cover maternity leave in the Secondary Department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the Spanish language and culture, have a flair for engaging students, and be committed to delivering high-quality lessons across all key stages.

You will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing students' progress, ensuring a positive and interactive learning experience for all. You will also contribute to the broader school community, working closely with colleagues and supporting extra-curricular activities where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Spanish lessons in line with the school curriculum
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Differentiate lessons to cater to a wide range of abilities and learning styles
  • Set and mark homework, providing constructive feedback to students
  • Manage classroom behaviour in a way that supports a positive learning environment
  • Attend and contribute to department meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and school events
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the curriculum to enhance language learning
  • Support students' personal and academic development

About You:

  • A qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS (or equivalent)
  • A native or fluent speaker of Spanish with excellent command of the language
  • Experience in teaching Spanish at [key stage/secondary/primary] level
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and inspire students
  • A passion for language teaching and fostering a love of learning in students
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
