We are working on behalf of a secondary school to recruit a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and well-established SEND department.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a meaningful difference to their school experience.
The Role
As a HLTA within the SEND team, you will:
Work directly with students who have specific learning needs and/or high levels of anxiety related to school
Act as a key worker for identified students, providing consistent support and advocacy
Liaise closely with the SENCO, the school's Mental Health Lead, and external professionals
Attend and contribute to relevant multi-agency meetings
Support teachers with the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities
Deliver whole-class and small group support across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, as required
The Ideal Candidate
Holds a recognised HLTA qualification (essential)
Has experience supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs
Is confident working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
Demonstrates strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
Is calm, resilient and committed to inclusive education
