Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)
Long Term Futures are recruiting a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to work in a secondary school in Newham, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This role involves working closely alongside the SEN team, helping pupils access learning and make progress in the classroom.
The school is particularly interested in candidates with a background in English, Maths or Science, making this an excellent opportunity for graduates or individuals considering a future career in teaching or education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Work alongside SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs
- Provide academic support in English, Maths and/or Science
- Assist with small group interventions and in-class learning
- Help maintain a focused, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and progress
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A background or strong subject knowledge in English, Maths or Science
- Experience working with young people or in an educational setting (desirable)
- A patient, adaptable and proactive approach
- Confidence working in a busy secondary school environment
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
- An interest in progressing into teaching, SEN or education-related roles
