About Us

We’re Imperial Health Charity, an organisation that helps our hospitals do more through grants, arts, volunteering, and fundraising. We support the five hospitals of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea, St Mary’s, and the Western Eye.

We are now looking for a Volunteering Officer to join us on a part-time basis, working 21 hours per week for a 12 month fixed term contract.

The Role

As a Volunteering Officer, you will support our Volunteer Employability Programme (VEP), helping local people enhance their career prospects through meaningful volunteering opportunities.

Acting as the first point of contact for applicants and volunteers, you’ll provide seamless administration and co-ordination to ensure a smooth and supportive volunteer journey from initial enquiry to active placement.

Day-to-day, you’ll manage applications, vetting processes, ID passes, and uniforms, as well as co-ordinating volunteer inductions, training, and recognition activities.

By maintaining accurate systems and records, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the programme runs efficiently and delivers real impact for both volunteers and the NHS Trust.

Additionally, you will:

- Provide pastoral support to volunteers

- Contribute to policy reviews, communications, and volunteer newsletters

- Support emergency response needs by helping to deploy volunteers when required

About You

To be considered as a Volunteering Officer, you will need:

- Experience working with or managing volunteer programmes

- Experience managing and planning events

- Experience working within project management principles

- Competency in Microsoft Office and 365 programmes and web-based CRM/database systems

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- The ability to travel between hospital sites in West London

All job offers with Imperial Health Charity are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks and references. The DBS check level required for this role is enhanced.

This role will close on Sunday 28th September at 11:30pm. Interviews will take place on Thursday 16th October.
