We are looking for a passionate, resilient, and committed Personal Advisor - Care Leaver to join our team and make a real impact on the lives of young people transitioning from care to independent living.

In this role, you will empower care leavers, helping them navigate their journey into adulthood, education, employment, and independent life. You’ll be their champion, advocate, and coach, making sure they have the tools, support, and confidence they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess young people’s needs and contribute to preparing their Pathway Plans.

  • Engage and motivate young people, ensuring their voices are at the heart of decision-making.

  • Coordinate timely services and work with partner agencies to support independence.

  • Offer consultation to social workers and professionals to find creative solutions.

  • Provide one-to-one and group support, covering practical life skills, education, employment, and training.

  • Advocate for young people at key meetings, interviews, and applications.

  • Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and track outcomes up to age 21 (or 25 if in education).

  • Ensure services are inclusive and meet the diverse needs of all care leavers.

  • Contribute to team knowledge and support colleagues with your specialist insights.

What We’re Looking For
  • A passionate commitment to improving outcomes for care leavers.

  • Experience working with vulnerable young people, preferably in a social care, youth work, or education setting.

  • Excellent communication, engagement, and motivational skills.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own caseload.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and financial management.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and group work.

Skills
  • Applied knowledge of safeguarding and youth justice legislation and principles underpinning good practice.

  • Experience of working with young people.

  • Working Knowledge Of Effective Youth Justice Practices
