The Resident Engagement Officer will lead the delivery of the organisations Resident Engagement Strategy, ensuring residents, particularly those from migrant and refugee backgrounds are at the centre of service design, decision-making, and community-building. This role empowers residents to influence improvements, foster inclusion, and help shape a thriving, supportive environment.By championing meaningful engagement across the organisation, the officer will build trust, improve transparency, and strengthen collaboration between residents. Their work will not only boost satisfaction but also generate valuable insights to guide service design, advocacy, and the organisations continued growth as a trusted, responsive housing provider.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the Resident Engagement Strategy in line with the organisations Corporate Plan and regulatory standards.
- Design accessible, inclusive initiatives to engage residents, particularly those from hard-to-reach backgrounds.
- Develop and support resident groups, forums, and digital platforms.
- Facilitate consultations; gather and act on feedback to drive service improvements.
- Promote co-design and shared decision-making.
- Plan and deliver workshops, events, and inclusion activities.
- Work closely with internal teams and partners (e.g., Doctors of the World, RAMFEL).
- Promote access to external support services through joint initiatives.
- Track engagement activity and assess impact using robust evaluation tools.
- Produce clear reports and analyse satisfaction surveys to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Offer guidance and training to build resident capacity.
- Champion resident views within the organisation and signpost to relevant services.
- Ensure all engagement complies with legal and internal standards (e.g., Equality, Data Protection).
- Stay current with best practices in community engagement and issues affecting migrant and refugee residents.About you
- Proven track record in resident engagement or community development, ideally in social housing.
- Experience working with diverse communities and addressing barriers they face.
- Skilled in facilitating workshops, meetings (in-person/online), and using resident feedback to improve services.
- Collaborative experience with residents, colleagues, and external partners.
- Solid understanding of social housing, resident engagement, co-production, and community development.
- Awareness of cultural needs, vulnerabilities, and EDI principles.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Organised, able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, databases, and digital tools.
- Analytical, with sound problem-solving and report-writing ability.
- Able to work independently and in teams.
