About the Role

Are you an experienced Youth Justice Officer looking to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? Join the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s multi-disciplinary Youth Offending Team, where you will work closely with young people involved in the youth justice system and their families to support positive change.

You will work with young people aged 10-17 who are subject to statutory Court Orders or out-of-court disposals. Your role will include supervising intervention plans, writing Pre-sentence reports, managing court settings, and ensuring effective case management to promote safer communities.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage a caseload of young people subject to youth justice interventions, including statutory Court orders and out-of-court diversions.

  • Work closely with families and guardians using systemic and trauma-informed approaches.

  • Prepare Pre-sentence reports and supervise Court Orders, including custodial sentences.

  • Complete out-of-court assessments and supervise intervention plans.

  • Collaborate with partner agencies to provide integrated support and respond to youth justice applications, such as knife crime prevention orders.

  • Maintain effective multi-agency relationships and share information in line with data protection regulations and local protocols.

  • Operate within the framework of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and other relevant youth justice and child care legislation.

What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Social Worker, Probation Officer, or relevant professional qualification with significant youth justice experience.

  • Experience working in Court settings and with out-of-court disposals.
