The Role:
As a Complex Needs Assistant, you will be working in a specialist setting within Lewisham, supporting students with a variety of complex needs including autism, physical disabilities, and medical conditions. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality support tailored to each child's individual education plan. Prior experience in a SEN environment is desirable but not essential - full education and training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with teachers and therapists to support students in their educational journey
- Assist with personal care tasks where required
- Promote independence and self-confidence through tailored support
- Help implement behaviour management strategies
- Support learning activities both in and out of the classroom
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for working with children with special needs
- Ability to remain patient, calm, and supportive
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to undergo necessary education and training
- Prior experience in a similar role is a bonus, but not essential
