A lovely primary school is looking for a confident SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school to support a child with complex needs on a 1 to 1 basis.

The Role

In this role you will be supporting a pupil in year 2 with Special Educational Needs. The child's needs are complex and the child will need support with their behaviour as well as academic activities in the classroom. The child can display challenging behaviour and will require you to de-escalate situations and remove the child in order to calm down situations. The school is well-resourced to support children with SEN and you will work closely with experienced staff and have access to specialist areas to support the child, including sensory rooms.

 

The school are looking for an SEN teaching assistant who is very confident and open to provide care and support to a young child with this level of complex needs.

The school are open to applications from Special Needs Teaching Assistants with previous experience or care settings, or passionate and committed individuals looking to enter the sector.

The School

This welcoming, friendly and popular two-form-entry school is split into infants and Juniors but runs as one collaborative setting. The school is based on a large site close to Alexandra Palace and benefits from a purpose-built gym, ICT suite, swimming pool, music room and library as well as various outdoor learning areas including a forest school. Pupils enjoy the broad and balanced curriculum offered by the school and this approach to developing the whole child has seen positive outcomes in academic standards.

 

There is a dedicated staff team in place supporting pupils to reach their potential regardless of starting point. Pupils with special education needs have additional support and access to sensory rooms, specialist learning areas and external professionals ensuring they have full support. There are good opportunities for professional development and career development for staff.
