Location: Waltham Forest

Contract Type: Fixed Term (term time only)

Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm

We are currently working in partnership with a welcoming 3-form entry primary school in Walthamstow, who are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

The school is known for its inclusive ethos, supportive leadership team, and commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and compassionate TA who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including those with Autism, ADHD, and Speech & Language needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning plans.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external agencies to support students' progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for making a difference in students' lives.
  • Level 2 (minimum) in Teaching Assistance or equivalent is desired.
