SEN Teaching Assistant
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Prospero Teaching is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant for an outstanding Ofsted rated Primary school in Wimbledon, Merton. The school is a popular two-form entry mainstream Primary School. The school has a highly supportive leadership team and offers ongoing training for all staff. This role is open to an extensively experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, with the potential for the contract to be extended or made permanent based on performance.
DETAILS
Location - Wimbledon, Merton
Position - SEN Teaching Assistant
Type of work - Supporting the class teacher, assisting with learning activities, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and helping with general classroom duties.
Start date - January 2026
End date - July 2026 (with a view to extend to the end of academic year 2026/27)
Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) - Temporary
Full time/part time - Full time
Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP90-110 per day (DOE)
Hours - 8:15am - 3:45pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
CACHE Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
Minimum 1 year experience supporting children with SEN in a UK primary school
Good understanding of how to adapt learning for a range of additional needs
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech & language needs
Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
