Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive 1 form entry primary school in Islington to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 role supporting a child with Autism in Reception.

This is a high-needs role and requires a confident, resilient practitioner who has strong behaviour management strategies and a good understanding of autism in early years settings.



The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a Reception-aged child with Autism

  • Implementing effective strategies to support learning, communication and regulation

  • Supporting the child with emotional and behavioural needs throughout the school day

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals

  • Creating a calm, structured and nurturing environment



The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has proven experience supporting children with Autism, particularly high-needs

  • Confident in using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques

  • Patient, consistent and proactive

  • Strong understanding of EYFS and child development

  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
