About the Role
A supportive primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from 13th October. This role is based in Key Stage 1 (KS1), working closely with a pupil with Autism (ASD) who requires tailored support, including regular movement breaks and access to the school's sensory room.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will help the child engage in learning, build social confidence, and develop strategies that promote independence within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one support for a KS1 pupil with Autism.
Implement strategies that include regular movement breaks and sensory activities.
Adapt resources and activities to suit the child's learning style and needs.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support progress and wellbeing.
Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction, and independence.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with Autism.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to use creativity and flexibility to support learning and development.
