SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT


Location: Bermondsey, South East London
Salary: 90 - 110 per day (PAYE, rate increases after 12 weeks to 118 per day)
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: January 2026 - July 2026.
Hours: 8.30am - 4pm

About the role:
SANZA Teaching Agency are supporting a dynamic and forward-thinking primary school in Bermondsey who are looking for an ambitious and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is an incredible opportunity for anyone who has prior experience working with children with additional needs who wants to develop their experience before applying for a PGCE, teacher training, speech and language training etc. You'll work in Year 5 supporting a handful of children who will require you to run small group interventions and help children reach their potential both academically and emotionally.

The role:

  • Support pupils in year 5 working 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assist with lesson delivery, group activities and interventions
  • Help plan and deliver creative and practical lessons
  • Contribute to classroom organisation and positive behaviour
  • Participate in school trips, clubs and whole-school events

The ideal candidate:

  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning TA and/or recent graduate with a degree in any subject (English, Psychology, Drama, Education, Sports etc.)
  • Passionate about education and considering a career in teaching
  • Confident, reliable and motivated to work with primary-aged children
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
