A small community primary school in Wandsworth are looking for a qualified SEN Coordinator to join their team on a part-time basis from September 2025.
The role
As the SENCO you be part of the leadership team for this small school. You will be responsible for coordinating all the support for children with Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities (SEND) and developing the school’s SEND Policy to make sure all children get a consistent, high-quality response to meeting their needs in school. The SENDCO is pivotal in making sure all pupils make progress and are supported and cared for appropriately across the whole school. This is a non-class based position although teaching intervention groups is expected.
Your role will include:
- Overseeing LAC, PP, SEND, Medical
- Updating the school’s SEND record of need and making sure that there are excellent records all pupil's progress and needs.
- Making sure that parents are fully involved in supporting their child’s learning including planning, regular information updates and reviews.
- Liaising with outside agencies and support e.g. Speech and Language Therapy, Educational Psychologist, Art Therapist etc.
- Providing specialist support for teachers and support staff in the school
- Work alongside class teachers to write Personal Learning Plans (PLP) that specify the targets for individual pupils.
- Preparing Education, Health and Care Plans
- Organising training for staff so they are aware and confident about how to meet the needs of pupils within the school.
- Planning and leading SEND Intervention groups

This community-focused primary school opened in 2020 and offers a bilingual education, combining the National Curriculum with Portuguese language instruction provided by specialists. The school is growing steadily, currently catering to pupils from Reception to Year 4. In addition to core subjects, the school offers Forest School, swimming, and music lessons with specialist teachers, fostering a rich and diverse learning experience. The school is easily accessible by public transport.

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and SENCO qualification
- be able to coach and mentor others effectively and work as part of a team
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, organisation and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Available to work a total of 2 days a week
- Be available to commit to a part-time role from September 2025
