Hours: 8:15am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? A welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Youth Mentor to join their team immediately.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of complex needs, including Autism, ADHD, Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and Global Developmental Delay.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent support and mentoring to students aged 11-16 with additional needs

  • Work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills

  • Help manage challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques

  • Build trusting relationships with students to boost engagement and confidence

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and the wider pastoral team



The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience supporting young people with SEN, especially SEMH, Autism, or ADHD

  • Be calm, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with vulnerable students

  • Be confident using behaviour management strategies

  • Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

  • Be committed to promoting inclusion and helping every student succeed
