SEN Learning Support Assistant - 1:1 Support (Mainstream Primary School)
Location: Newham, East London

Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children? A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated SEN LSA to provide one-to-one support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Position:

SEN Learning Support Assistant - 1:1 Support



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCo to plan and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs and foster independence in pupils.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, contributing to the assessment and review process.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment, promoting positive relationships and well-being.
  • Support children in managing transitions and developing key skills.


Experience & Requirements:

  • Prior experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting is essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are desirable but not essential.
