We are looking to appoint an outstanding, self-motivated and committed Class Teacher to work within a specialist school within the Camden area.

This is an amazing opportunity for a suitable candidate to develop their career by joining a talented, hardworking, and friendly team involved in developing first class provision for pupils aged between 3-16 with a primary need of Autism.

You will be supported by a wider team of professionals to ensure our pupils thrive, have fun and maximise their potential.

  • To re-engage children who have not been able to access education due to the nature and complexity of their specific needs through individualised and group learning sessions.
  • To help their pupils to become more aware of their potential barriers to learning and help them to overcome these.
  • To re-ignite a pride in attaining their potential and curiosity in the world around them
  • To further encourage their pupils to become more self-regulating in their behaviours through a process of nurture and reflection techniques.
  • To make learning a two-way process and encourage more responsibility in the childrens learning.
  • To give their pupils the opportunity to enjoy learning again through creativity and fun.

What we are looking for:

  • An experienced and energetic practitioner with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment, and positive behaviour management strategies to make a positive impact on the progress of pupils with complex needs.
  • Highly motivated, innovative person with enthusiasm and commitment.

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised overseas teaching certificate

* Experience working with students with SEND within a mainstream or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting is desirable, however ECTs are welcomed to apply.

* Flexible and hard-working nature

* Excellent communication skills

* Existing DBS check on the update service

* Experience of augmentative and alternative communication (PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method) are beneficial, but not essential.
