About the role of Assistant Estimator
As Assistant Estimator, you will be working with an existing team of 4 Estimators of different levels, under the Estimating Director based in the City of London office 4 days a week, 1 day from home following successful probation period.
As a business we specialise in Cat A & Cat B Commercial Fit Out, Office refurb & Design & Build, working on projects ranging from 5m to 30m. We are a Multi-Million pound business, having exceeded our 250m turnover goal last year, we are now on track to hit our goal of 300m for 2025, with having secured most of our work for 2025 before it had even started!
Despite our success, we are a business that is focused on profit, not turnover. We are looking for someone who has 5+ years of Estimating experience, working for either a Main Contractor or Fit Out Contractor, to join our team

Responsibilities for Assistant Estimator
* Assistant Senior Estimators in preparing cost estimates for fit out & refurbishment projects
* Help compile quantities & measures from drawings, specifications and schedules
* Send out enquiries for subcontractor & supplier quotations
* Chase & log incoming quotes
* Organise & maintain tender documentation
* Help prepare tender submission packs
* Assist in identifying basic commercial risks & opportunities in tenders
* Use estimating software (eg., Conquest, CostX, Causeway & Excel spreadsheets for take offs & cost compilations
* Attend tender meetings, workshops, and sometimes site visits with Senior Estimators
* Continuously learn about construction methods, materials, regulations & fit out market rates


Requirements for Assistant Estimator
* Minimum 5 years experience in Estimating
* Experience working for a Tier 1 or high end Tier 2 Fit Out Contractor OR Main Contractor
* Familiarity with basic tendering & procurement processes
* Degree qualified in a Construction related subject, such as Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management etc.
* Understanding of Construction methods & building materials
* Good written communication
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Estimating software
* Eager to learn & take feedback
* Detail orientated
* Good team player
