MIS Expert (Management Information Systems) Required to join a Consultancy on behalf of a Government organisation and this will be on a part time basis for around 10 days per month for 3 months.

Overview of role:

Provide strategic and technical leadership in the design and development of Management Information Systems, with deep expertise in Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) operations to gather data from multiple sources at varying stages of digitisation. This includes building integrated, scalable databases and dashboards, as well as predictive indices and machine learning-based forecasts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of ArcGIS and PowerBI dashboards in collaboration with GIS specialists and Tetra Tech's Data Engineering Unit, engaging with Z Organisation staff and implementing partners across multiple programmes.

  • Develop predictive indices and machine learning forecasts to support Z Organisation's data-driven decision-making in areas such as humanitarian aid, health, food security, and macroeconomic indicators.

  • Ensure quality assurance of data visualisations and underlying datasets in coordination with the data engineering team.

  • Recommend and implement visualisation improvements based on stakeholder feedback and integration of secondary data sources.

  • Support Z Organisation teams in interpreting MIS data through tailored guidance and presentations, addressing varied levels of data literacy.

  • Maintain and update the MIS, incorporating new datasets and dashboards, and advise on efficient data sourcing and management.

  • Contribute to user guides, data dictionaries, and technical documentation.

  • Support dataset archiving and anonymisation for Z Organisation handover and possible public distribution.

  • Manage and resolve MIS-related support queries from Z Organisation and programme stakeholders.
