Switchboard Operator

Location: Inner London (SW3)

Pay Rate: £14.65 per hour PAYE (Weekday rate)

Employment Type: Temporary (2 - 6 months)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, varying shifts

Shift Patterns:

  • Early Weekday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Late Weekday: 12:00pm - 9:30pm
  • Early Weekend: 8:00am - 12:30pm
  • Middle Weekend: 12:30pm - 5:00pm
  • Late Weekend: 5:00pm - 9:30pm

About the Role: Are you confident in handling outgoing and incoming calls? My client, a Healthcare Provider within Inner London, is seeking a Switchboard Operator for an ongoing temporary assignment starting ASAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answering all calls promptly, politely, and helpfully to ensure a quality service to all clients.
  • Using appropriate questioning techniques to obtain relevant information from callers.
  • Assessing caller needs to direct them to the correct department.
  • Taking Ambulance Service calls for primary admissions and following procedures to alert relevant staff.

Requirements:

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in focus.
  • Calm-minded, capable of dealing with distressed callers.
  • Flexible with working hours, as shifts may change depending on staff levels.
