Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, regulations, and safety standards.
- Conduct daily site inspections and surveys, maintaining detailed records and reporting progress to Project Engineers.
- Ensure quality control through regular checks on materials, workmanship, and construction processes.
- Enforce health and safety protocols in line with CDM 2015, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and other relevant legislation.
- Manage traffic management measures, signage, and road markings in accordance with Traffic Management Orders and design guidelines.
- Liaise with developers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery and compliance with KPIs.
- Support issue resolution, change management, and financial tracking throughout the construction phase.
- Review and verify CAD drawings, "as-built" plans, and traffic management documentation.
- Coordinate work programmes and assess contractor performance at key project milestones.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in highways, transport, or public realm project delivery.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, including:
- Highways Act 1980
- New Roads and Street Works Act 1991
- Traffic Management Act 2004
- CDM Regulations 2015
- Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
- Flood and Water Management Act 2010
- Town and Country Planning Act 1990
- Experience managing contractors and sub-contractors on-site.
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
