I am currently recruiting for a commercial building services engineer to deliver the MEP services for a seven-storey, 15,000 sq ft office development for an end-user client in Mayfair.

As part of the mobilisation plan, my client are seeking a time-served, highly competent Building Services Engineer.

 

Key Requirements & Details from Job Description:

 

Role: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative (Building Services Engineer)

 

Type of Work: Responsible for planned and reactive maintenance of both mechanical and electrical systems across the building, including HVAC plant, boilers, pumps, BMS, lighting, water, and drainage systems.

 

Scope: Maintenance, fault finding, small installation tasks, compliance activities, record-keeping, and first-line diagnostics.

 

Plant Knowledge: Preparation, start-up (normal/emergency), running checks, shut-down, changeovers, and optimum run times of building services plant.

 

Record Keeping: Maintain logbooks, and ensure health & safety, building compliance, and quality assurance documentation is up to date.

 

Collaboration: Work closely with contract management, technical supervisors, and communicate with both clients and sub-contractors on site.

 

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

 

City & Guilds Level II/III (or equivalent) in Electrical discipline (essential), with mechanical qualifications desirable.

18th Edition I.E.E. (essential)

PASMA and IPAF 1b/3a/3b (desired)

Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding on a variety of M&E equipment (boilers, ventilation, pumps, generators, batteries, switchgear, lighting, etc.)

Good knowledge of Electricity at Work safe practices and regulations.

Experience with BMS, controls, and commercial systems desirable.

Excellent communication and record-keeping.

Able to prioritise work, respond to emergencies, and work independently or as part of a team.

Customer-focused approach and able to maintain a safe, efficient, and functional environment for building users.

Participation in an on-call rota and potential for overtime.
