Engineering Supervisor – Electrical Bias

We’re working with a leading facilities management provider to recruit an experienced Engineering Supervisor for a prestigious commercial site in Central London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified electrical engineer to step into a leadership role, manage a high-performing team, and take ownership of technical delivery and client engagement on a flagship contract.
The Role
As Engineering Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical and general building services maintenance across the site. You’ll lead a team of engineers, ensure compliance with statutory regulations, and act as the key point of contact for client-side stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Supervise and support a team of multi-skilled engineers, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and performance reviews.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Technical Delivery & Compliance
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks across electrical systems and general building services.
- Carry out fault diagnosis and hands-on repairs where necessary.
- Ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety regulations, including isolation procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Maintain accurate records of statutory compliance, RAMS, and logbooks.
Electrical Systems Management
- Maintain and troubleshoot:
- Single & Three Phase Power Systems
- Motors, Generators & UPS Systems – including on/off load testing
- Emergency Lighting & Fire Alarm Systems
- HVAC Controls – including AHUs, FCUs, VAVs
- Sprinkler Systems, Pumps, Belts, Bearings & Seals
- Building Management System (BMS) – monitoring, adjustments, and fault escalation
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise directly with client representatives to ensure smooth service delivery and timely resolution of issues.
- Attend regular site meetings and provide updates to the Account Manager.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and energy efficiency.
Project & Asset Support
- Assist in small works and lifecycle projects, including scoping, contractor coordination, and quality assurance.
- Support asset verification and contribute to long-term maintenance planning.
About You
- Qualifications: City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 / EAL in Electrical Engineering + 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role within commercial building maintenance.
- Skills: Strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of electrical systems, building services, and compliance frameworks.
