Role Overview
As Assistant Maintenance Manager, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of all building systems and facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a team of four engineers and assistants, delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across our luxury property.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations.
- Lead and motivate a team of maintenance engineers and assistants.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and statutory requirements.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and reactive repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and reporting.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when required.
- Uphold the highest standards of service and presentation in all areas.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven supervisory experience in a luxury residential or 5-star hospitality environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, BMS, plumbing).
- Relevant technical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead by example and inspire a team.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with attention to detail.
