Do you excel at enhancing website performance and optimising how well content performs?

An established and prestigious, national institution is seeking a technically proficient individual who understands how to manage and enhance website usability and experience, improve the performance of content, and crucially, build productive internal working relationships.

As the Content & Website Manager, you will:

  • Design and build web pages with a focus on usability, accessibility, and UX, created via an existing template, or at times, from scratch.
  • Guide and enable colleagues to optimise web pages including headings and keywords, while ensuring that copy is both accessible and is optimised for search engines (SEO).
  • Provide monthly statistics that report on performance to inform content optimisation, utilising GA4.
  • Deliver occasional training via MS Teams, with support from a colleague and pre-existing templates and scripts.
  • Fulfil inbound requests and manage expectations with colleagues, coordinating tasks across the team and negotiating on workflow and projects.
  • Act as a guardian for the organisation's brand and profile, working collaboratively alongside Editors ad CMS leads while maintaining wider editorial oversight

You will also support the wider team with ad-hoc duties as per workflow.

*This is not a digital marketing role and you will not be required to produce content. There is also no line management duties.

It is essential that you have:

  • Experience in web content management role.
  • Knowledge of information architecture and user experience
  • Practical understanding of accessibility best practice for websites, in line with WCAG.
  • Working knowledge of UX, on-page and basic technical SEO.
  • Produced reports and analysis through using Google Analytics (GA4).
  • Understanding of image rights and permissions.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with people of all backgrounds, and at all levels of seniority.
  • A sharp eye for detail and be competent at proof reading.
  • Ability to thrive a busy working environment that will also see you engage with various stakeholders.

You will also need experience using SEMrush, or at least a similar SEO tool.
