Job Summary:
As a Shovel Loader Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a loading shovel to move, load, and manage materials on-site. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations and maintaining a smooth workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a loading shovel to load materials into hoppers, vehicles, or processing machinery.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain clean and safe working areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow site-specific procedures and company policies at all times.
- Keep accurate records of materials handled and report any discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a loading shovel or similar heavy machinery.
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends if required.
Desirable:
- Experience in a similar industry (e.g. waste, construction, aggregates).
- Additional machinery licenses (e.g., forklift, excavator).
