Temporary position Building Surveyor | Rates : 23.32 to 24.41 PAYE or 29.03 to 30.39 Umbrella. | initially 3 months. Team: Responsive Repairs, Voids and Minor Works Team | Core responsibilities:

* To act as senior professional and technical advisor within the Responsive Repairs, Voids and Minor Works Team for all aspects of delivery of the council's work to its domestic rented portfolio in accordance with the consumer standards. To lead on the delivery of a full defect diagnostic service and eradicate cases of damp and mould and other defects through accurate diagnostic, scoping and reporting within the Housing Service, seeing these through to resolution.

* Carry out measured surveys and compile information to assist with the preparation of specifications, orders and other contract documents. To manage a programme of stock condition surveys, Asset Registers and Life Cycle Cost Plans upon the Council housing stock, compiling the data and ensuing stock is maintained to a high standard, repairs are identified and managed and housing related issues are reported

* To effectively support the management of external building contractors working for the council. In conjunction with the Responsive Repairs and Maintenance Manager, the postholder will be responsible for liaising with tenants where work is to be carried out and ensuring any special requirements are identified and accommodated for.
