HGV Mechanic (Shepshed)

Location: Leicestershire
Salary: £43,(Apply online only) per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime available
Extras: 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays (with the option to buy 4 more), overtime paid at 1.5x, double pay on Sundays, private healthcare, pension scheme and more

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and qualified HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter to join a market-leading team based in Shepshed. You’ll be responsible for the inspection, servicing, and repair of HGVs, ensuring all work meets high safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter
Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on a range of HGVs
Diagnose and resolve faults using EBS systems such as HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE
Complete all compliance paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail
Prepare vehicles for MOT and perform relevant safety checks
Meet workshop performance and quality standards
Adhere to health and safety procedures
Attend ongoing training including IRTEC, BPW & SAF axle systems, and tail lift maintenance

Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter
Essential
Experience in HGV maintenance
Recognised industry qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

Desirable
HGV Class 1 licence
IRTEC accreditation
Experience with EBS diagnostics (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)
Welding certification
Axle manufacturer training (BPW, SAF, JOST)
Tail lift maintenance experience
