My client are a leading provider of chilled distribution based in Lincolnshire.

Following a recent acquisition, they are now part of a wider group, and as such, have guaranteed investment into the site and allowed them to expand into new markets and work with new clients.

As Transport Planner, reporting directly into the Transport Manager, your role will be to own the daily transport activity, from plan to execution and revenue capture. Using your critical thinking and problem solving skills, you will consistently deliver an efficient transport plan, which is then communicated to drivers and customers in a timely manner.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Securing loads from customers, finding work for empty legs of the journey or static vehicles.
  • Allocating trailers and drivers
  • Tracking vehicles in the appropriate system and estimate returns
  • Costings of loads and jobs
  • Provide efficient customer service to clients, communicating service issues and record rejections
  • Management of vehicle maintenance and breakdowns
  • Efficiently plan routes to ensure maximum revenue
  • Collate defects and rectifications sheets and upload to vehicle files

Ideally you will have 2-5 years experience in a similar role within the FMGC Logistics sector and possess a full CPC qualification, however this is not essential if the level of experience suggests a strong knowledge of the transport planners role.
