Class1 Personnel are looking to recruit on a permanent basis an individual with Ocean Freight experience who are looking for the next step up
Salary starting at 32,000K based on a 37.5 hour week
Responsibilities:
- Keep up to date with all transport, shipping, VAT, import/export and HMRC regulations, changes and ensure compliance
- Coordinate and manage all customs matters related to international shipments
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure correct documentations are provided for all shipments
- Ensure accurate information is communicated to forwarders and clearing agents
- Prioritise work tasks and calls out to Lead Supervisor
Key skills:
- High attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good IT skills, and intermediate level of Excel with experience of formulas
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem solving and alternative solution thinking
- Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive environment, working to tight deadlines and being able to multitask across changing priorities
Essential Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience of freight forwarding within ocean, air and road freight
- Experience and understanding of shipping documentation e.g Bills of Lading
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures
