Are you an experienced Payroll professional ready to take full ownership of a standalone function? We're recruiting for a growing manufacturing business in Lytham looking for a hands-on and confident Payroll Manager.

The Role:

As Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering an accurate, timely and compliant payroll service for around 500 employees paid weekly and monthly. This is an end-to-end processing role with full accountability, reporting into the HR function and working closely with Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage weekly and monthly payrolls

  • End-to-end processing including pensions, statutory payments, deductions, and reporting

  • Submit BACS payments and provide payroll reports to Finance

  • Handle all payroll queries and discrepancies with a calm, professional approach

  • Support compliance with HMRC regulations and ensure processes meet legislation

  • Maintain payroll records and support data for audits, pay reviews, and internal reporting

  • Use payroll and T&A systems, ensuring data is fully aligned

  • Help improve T&A processes where needed

About You:

  • You've got at least 2 years' experience running payroll from start to finish

  • Ideally, you've worked in a manufacturing or similar environment

  • You're confident chasing up timesheets, spotting anomalies, and fixing issues

  • You're a team player but happy working independently and owning your workload

  • Calm under pressure and comfortable with a Monday-Wednesday pay finalisation cycle

  • Good Excel skills and comfortable handling payroll reports

  • CIPP qualified or working towards it (desirable, not essential)
