Deen Consult Services is recruiting for an experienced and passionate SEND Senior Tribunals Officer to join a council’s Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) team.

This is an exciting opportunity to support children and young people with SEND, ensuring fair and effective handling of tribunal appeals while working collaboratively with families, schools, and professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit detailed responses to SEND Tribunal (SENDT) appeals, meeting all deadlines.

  • Represent the council at SENDT hearings.

  • Collaborate closely with legal representatives, parents, carers, and schools.

  • Chair multi-agency meetings and oversee case preparation.

  • Monitor and report on appeal trends to inform business planning.

  • Maintain accurate records, including financial tracking and case management systems such as Synergy.

  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, data protection, and confidentiality standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Law, Education, Social Work, or a related discipline.

  • In-depth understanding of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.

  • Experience in preparing legal documentation and managing tribunal or casework processes.

  • Ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, including families, legal professionals, and education staff.

  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • High level of written communication, accuracy, and attention to detail.
