Are you a compassionate, patient and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting children with Autism (ASC)? Academics is looking for an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive Provision that is committed to providing high-quality support for pupils with additional needs.
About the Role:
You will work closely with teaching staff and the school's SEND team to support pupils with Autism across the classroom and during structured interventions. Your role will be crucial in helping pupils develop communication, independence, social skills, and confidence in learning.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with Autism
Assisting with tailored learning activities and visual support strategies
Helping pupils regulate emotions and manage transitions
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Promoting a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Using specialist approaches such as TEACCH, PECs, or sensory support (experience desirable)
