With a strong emphasis on physical development, teamwork, and wellbeing, the PE department plays a vital role in the life of the school.

The school are seeking to appoint a passionate PE Teacher to join the team on a short-term contract from January to March 2026. The successful candidate will be teaching across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), delivering a broad and inclusive PE curriculum.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum

  • Motivate and inspire students to develop a lifelong interest in sport, health and fitness

  • Deliver lessons across a variety of sports and physical activities, both indoor and outdoor

  • Prepare students for practical and theoretical assessments, where applicable

  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among students

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, participation, and safety in all lessons

  • Organise and support extracurricular sporting clubs, teams, and inter-school events

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and across the school

The successful PE Teacher will have:
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent in Physical Education (ECTs welcome to apply)

  • Experience teaching PE at KS3 and KS4 level

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A genuine passion for sport and physical education
